‘Me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m.,’ Ke$ha tells MTV News.

It’s prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories.
“I had a great prom,” Ne-Yo told MTV News. “I didn’t get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good.”
Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. “I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends,” she recalled. “Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m.”
“Hellcats” star Aly Michalka doesn’t have a favorite prom memory — because she never went to prom. “I was homeschooled, so I don’t even think we had a fake prom,” she lamented. “Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn’t invited?”
While everything always seems to be in peril on “The Vampire Diaries,” star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: “Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember].”
Romeo went big for his prom. “My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond,” he said. “And it was one of the best nights of my life.”
“My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as ‘Dumb & Dumber,’ ” Audrina Patridge laughed. “And so we were like, ‘We can’t dress up dorky … we have to look good.’ ”
Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: “June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night.”
Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. “I had a great prom. I had an awesome time,” he said. “I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy.”

Singer tells MTV News about gay fan inspired by her song ‘Animal.’

Ke$ha knows all about the perks of being a headliner. On her Get $leazy Tour, the singer gets to call all the shots, blast her fans in the face with tons of glitter and handpick which dudes she wants to party and share the stage with.
But it’s not all backstage shenanigans and groupie love. When MTV News sat down with the “Blow” singer in New York earlier this week before her gig at Roseland Ballroom, Ke$ha said that amid the nightly onstage parties there have also been some poignant moments on her first headlining outing.
“Best moment? There are so many. Every night’s amazing. I have kids outside right now chanting my name and it’s awesome,” she said of the first leg of the tour. “There was one night a fan came onstage, I invited him onstage, and he had a tattoo of the dollar sign. I was like, ‘Oh, that’s awesome! Badass. You’re part of the cult, man.’ ”
And then, she said, he began to cry and explained that he was able to come out of the closet to his friends and family thanks to her song “Animal.”
“And I’m standing onstage about to sing a song about growing back a pair of testicles ["Grow a Pear"] and I had tears rolling down my face and chills all over my body,” she said. “Because that’s really the reason I do music, to inspire people to be themselves.”
Ke$ha has been a vocal supporter of the “It Gets Better” video project, which aims to help gay, bisexual and transgender youth find hope in the face of teasing and bullying.
The “Get $leazy” juggernaut continues on Saturday night with a show at Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania.

Sad sad news to report today…. Grease star Jeff Conaway reportedly has been taken off life support, the decision made by the family of the ‘Grease’ star. Conaway entered an Encino hospital on May 11th, who had been found unconscious on the floor at his home. A source close to the family told RadarOnline.com: “Doctors advised the family that Jeff has had no brain function since he was brought into the hospital. The feeding tube has already been removed.” It was originally thought that Conaway had overdosed on prescription drugs. Dr. Drew cleared the air, though, took to his Twitter page and explained that Conaway was actually suffering for pneumonia with sepsis and it was not an OD. He apparently also was in an induced coma. Dr. Drew knows all too well Conaway’s struggle with substance abuse, after treating him on the VH1 reality show, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew back in 2008. He sought treatment for addiction to painkillers, cocaine and alcohol. He reportedly has long battled substance abuse problems since the late 80′s. A staircase fall at his home in January 2010 resulted in several injuries and the actor had to undergo surgery to fix a broken hip. [...]

‘If time allows, there will definitely be new music,’ Robert DeLeo adds of STP’s future.

There are a number of reasons why Stone Temple Pilots decided to reunite after nearly five years apart — some are obvious, and others, not so much.
Of course, the financial windfall of reviving the grunge stalwarts for an extensive U.S. tour was too good to pass up, and bassist Robert DeLeo readily admits as much. And then there are the fans, the ones who had been with STP since the very beginning as well as those who discovered the band only after it first split back in 2003 and who, woefully, have yet to catch the Pilots live.
On a more personal level, though, Stone Temple Pilots’ resurrection was purely selfish, and very much an anticipatory (not to mention optimistic) move on the band’s part: If, after the months and months of rumors and denials, there ever is a full-on Led Zeppelin reunion tour, STP wanted to be ready to offer their services as an opening act.
“Believe me, that was one of the reasons,” laughed DeLeo. “We thought, ‘We should get together now, in case Zeppelin does tour.’ I’m serious, man. That would be one hell of a bill: STP and Led Zeppelin. I mean, we could play a doghouse, out in the middle of the ocean, and if I got to play with Zeppelin, that would be a highlight of my life.”
Yes, DeLeo — and the rest of the band — had several reservations about raising STP from the dead — a feat DeLeo jokingly referred to as “Mission Impossible.” For the band’s members, the idea of regrouping was terrifying at first, but with time, the boys settled their differences and tried to think positive.
“For me, it was about putting down some of the things that I was used to getting bitten by,” explained the bassist — who, with guitar-playing brother Dean DeLeo, has been collaborating with Peter Frampton on material for his next LP. “After you get bitten, it’s hard to go back. I wanted to go into this with an open frame of mind and a positive attitude and just have fun with it. We should have fun with it, which God knows we didn’t always have with our career when we were younger. If that’s all I can say, and that’s what I can get out of this reunion, great.
“I think I speak for all of us when I say there’s a lot of unfinished business that we didn’t get around to the first go,” he continued. “Enough time has gone by, and it feels really good to be back. I don’t really want to put too much thought into how it feels — I’m just kind of going with it and keeping a good positive attitude about it. I just needed to get over the things that we all needed to get over, and that’s been working so far. If everyone shows up and does this thing, I think it’s going to be really amazing.”
DeLeo claims that during recent rehearsals, STP were “sounding as good as ever,” and he credits sobriety as part of the reason the band’s in tip-top shape.
“My brother’s going on four years of sobriety,” he said. “We have a lot more clarity in the band now, and I think with clarity comes appreciation. I saw that the other night, when we played [a secret gig in Los Angeles]. I saw it in my eyes, and in the eyes of the rest of the band. There’s a lot more rock in this band now.”
As for an STP record, DeLeo is not 100 percent sure that’s going to happen. The goal for STP over the next few weeks, he said, is to reacquaint themselves with their songbook and prepare for their return to the road. Once the band is back in that mindset, the bassist said new STP material is very possible.
“I’ve always got stuff written, and there’s always a long list of songs that are always there — it’s a matter of timing,” DeLeo said. “If time allows, there will definitely be new music. I think it would be silly not to release new music. I’d like to believe we still have a writing relationship, but the first step is getting reacquainted with what we know.”
While STP were on hiatus, frontman Scott Weiland teamed up with Velvet Revolver, and the DeLeo brothers joined forces with Filter’s Richard Patrick for Army of Anyone — who are now on hiatus after releasing a poorly received self-titled LP. Does DeLeo foresee an AOA reunion somewhere down the line?
“You never know,” he said. “It’s just like STP — I didn’t know if I was going to return. Whether we get back together and do anything, I think we made a great record, bottom line. That’s all that matters to me. If we make another one, I want to make sure it’s great, and that applies to STP and anything I do. But I was pretty heartbroken over [the feeble response to AOA's album].”

Them Crooked Vultures make their debut with a post-Lollapalooza set.

Officially, Lollapalooza ended Sunday night in Chicago’s Grant Park, with dueling sets from the Killers and Jane’s Addiction. Unofficially, it ended very early Monday morning, across town at venerable rock club the Metro, with a surprise show by Them Crooked Vultures.
To the unfamiliar, the Vultures might seem like an odd choice to close out Lolla weekend … until you realize that they’re made up of Foo Fighters frontman/ former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age mastermind Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones. And their gig at the Metro was their world premiere.
According to some reports, the Vultures actually turned down Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell’s request to replace the Beastie Boys as headliners at the festival, opting to debut in front of some 1,100 super-psyched fans at the Metro, rather than 75,000 in Grant Park (tickets for the gig were announced via Foo Fighter/ QOTSA fan clubs). Meaning that, in a lot of ways, this was the most sought-after ticket in town.
Taking the stage just after midnight, the Vultures — Grohl on drums (of course), Homme on guitar and vocals, Jones on bass and keys and frequent QOTSA contributor Alain Johannes on guitar — ripped through 12 songs in 80 minutes, all taken from their upcoming debut, which may or may not be called Never Deserved the Future, and may or may not be hitting stores on October 23 (early “promo” videos touting both those facts were revealed over the weekend to be hoaxes perpetrated by QOTSA fans).
The songs, with appropriately Homme-ian titles like “Scumbag Blues,” “Mind Eraser (No Chaser),” “Caligulove” and “Interlude w/Ludes,” sounded pretty much how you’d expect, given the band’s pedigree. They rocked, hard — Chicago Tribune critic Greg Kot described them as “fresh, invigorating and just plain nasty” — delving off into psychedelic, reverb-filled excursions and exploring proggy territory, “both of the old-school Yes variety, and the more modern Tool flavor,” according to the Chicago Sun-Times’ Jim DeRogatis.
It’s not known if Monday’s Metro performance was a one-off event for the Vultures — there have been whispers of a full-blown tour, but a spokesperson for Homme had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment at press time. Nor was it clear whether or not they’ll have an album out in October.
Early Monday, a Crooked Vultures Twitter account, which had previously posted links to the band’s official-looking Web site and the Metro’s online ticketing site — posted a link to what appears to be the group’s first bit of official merchandise: a Deserve the Future T-shirt. Cost: $30.

MJ classic is mashed up with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ ‘Heads Will Roll’ for post-Super Bowl episode.

Madonna, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and now, finally, Michael Jackson. The cast of “Glee” has covered plenty of icons during their first two seasons, but it’s taken 33 episodes to get around to the King of Pop.
With a huge catalog of Jackson songs, the singing, dancing students of McKinley High paid homage to the late singer with one of his biggest staples (and, arguably, the greatest music video of all time) with their take on “Thriller.”
The groundbreaking single from Jackson’s best-selling album of the same name was mashed up with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll” for the post-Super Bowl episode (titled “The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle”), featuring a zombie-fied “Glee” cast.
Bound to become a smash all over again (though with its nonstop rotation at Halloween parties and wedding receptions until the end of time, it’s never truly gone away), here’s a brief history of the dance/pop classic.
Released on January 23, 1984, “Thriller” was the seventh, and final, single to be released from Jackson’s smash record. According to the RIAA, the album (released by Epic Records) has gone gold 29 times, narrowly edging out the Eagles’ Greatest Hits 1971-1975 for the title of best-selling album of all time.
In 2009, MTV News estimated that the Thriller album was poised to go triple diamond, meaning 30 million records sold in the U.S. alone.
After Thriller‘s other singles (including “Billie Jean,” “Beat It” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Something”) dominated the charts, it was time for the spooky, undeniably original track to take over. The song “Thriller” also appeared on many of Jackson’s other albums, including the compilations HIStory and Number Ones.
Clocking in at a little under six minutes (though the radio edit was closer to four-and-a-half), the song features pop-music mainstays like synthesizers but shakes things up with its spooky sound effects, including creaking floors, howling and thunder.
The song was produced by Quincy Jones and written and composed by Rod Tempterton and spent 14 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #4.
But it’s the music video for “Thriller” that truly made it the phenomenon it was in the ’80s and continues to be today. Less a music video than a mini-motion picture, the video (over 13 minutes long and directed by John Landis) won three MTV Video Music Awards and has been named the best music video of all time by many outlets, including VH1 for the special “VH1: 100 Greatest Videos.”
The chiller features Jackson in that iconic red leather jacket on a date with his girlfriend (played by Ola Ray) before things go terribly awry. After all, as Jackson (whose disclaimer at the start of the video reads, “This film in no way endorses a belief in the occult”) sings in the opening line, “It’s close to midnight and something evil’s lurking in the dark.” Cue werewolves, zombies, Vincent Price’s soliloquy and one of the most memorable dance sequences ever.
The video was (no pun intended) a monster hit. As the Los Angeles Times notes, “At the height of the song’s popularity, MTV would run the 14-minute ‘Thriller’ video twice an hour.”
Choreographed by Jackson and Michael Peters (who, as the LA Times also reported, appears in the video as one of the zombies) and with makeup by Oscar-winner Rick Baker (also an undead “Thriller” extra) was made with a huge budget of an estimated $500,000.
Still, the efforts paid off. Landis (who told the “Today” show back in 2009 that no one wanted to give them the funds to make the risky vid) made the accompanying 45-minute documentary about the venture, called “The Making of Thriller.” Featuring the behind-the-scenes wizardry, as well as the music video in full, it would go on to move more than 10 million copies.
Since then, the signature song and video have seen their share fair of tributes in movies (notably in the 2004 comedy”13 Going on 30″) and TV (“South Park,” “Family Guy,” “30 Rock,” among others), not to mention the countless flash mobs that have gone viral. (Remember the prisoners in the Philippines who became overnight phenomenons on YouTube?)
Even with the “Glee” number, this likely won’t be the last incarnation of “Thriller.” Billboard reported in October that a “Thriller” film is in the works. With a plot allegedly revolving around Price’s narration, Kenny Ortega, who directed Jackson’s last effort, “This Is It,” will reportedly helm the project.
Since Jackson’s untimely passing on June 25, 2009, the song and video’s legacy continue to live on. In the week following Jackson’s death, “Thriller” was the best-selling track in the U.S., with sales of 167,000 copies on the Billboard Hot Digital Singles chart.
Then, in December 2009, “Thriller” was the first music video to ever be inducted into the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. It seems “no mere mortal can resist … the thriller” after all.

It looks like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez will be working on their next date night. The two teen stars have been announced as presenters at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards taking place this Sunday, Billboard.com reports.
Other big names on hand to present include Kylie Minogue, Jada Pinkett Smith, Joe Jonas, Keri Hilson, Marc Anthony, “Glee” star Matthew Morrison, Nas, Scott Weiland, Tim Allen, Travis Barker, Trey Songz and “Modern Family” star Rico Rodriguez.
Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas, Taio Cruz, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum have all been tapped to perform at the show, which will air live on ABC from the Las Vegas MGM Grand.
Big nominees for the night include Rihanna (with a whopping 18 nods), Eminem, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber. Bieber, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Rihanna and Gaga all face off for the night’s big honor of Top Artist. As for the Top New Artist category, Bieber will be up against Taio Cruz, Ke$ha, Bruno Mars and Nicki Minaj.
Beyoncé will be honored with the Billboard Millennium Award as she amps up to drop her forthcoming album 4. Billboard named Beyoncé their Woman of the Year in October 2009 and Top Female Artist of the Decade in December 2009. This year, she will be honored for her work both as a solo artist and as a founding member of Destiny’s Child.

Swizz says Kanye originally recorded three verses for ‘Skyscrapers’ track, leaving no room for his own contribution to the song.

Swizz Beatz has friends in high places. For his upcoming Haute Living album, the multiplatinum producer reached out to U2′s Bono and Kanye West to lend their touch to a track called “Skyscrapers.” The thought of the three stars on a single track is enough to excite any music fan, but Swizz told MTV News how the song almost became a Kanye West solo affair.
Swizz played the track for ‘Ye, whom he considers a brother, and got verbal confirmation from the Louis Vuitton Don that he would appear on the song. But after Kanye laid down his vocals and sent the track back, Swizz found that Yeezy had completed the entire song himself. “He gives me the track back, done, three verses, the chorus there and a bridge. So I’m like, there ain’t no room for me on that thing!” Swizz says laughing. “I’m like, ‘Not on this one, baby.’ So I got two extra verses in the stash.”
As of now, there is no telling where those extra Kanye vocals will end up, but fans can expect to hear “Skyscrapers” and see a video for the track soon — even if the three featured artists don’t appear in the clip. Judging by Swizzy’s description of both the track and the video, fans should get ready for a thought-provoking experience.
“I felt like there was a lot of things going on in the world that was bigger than all of us. So as of right now, we’re not in the video,” Swizz says of the song’s visuals, which he has already begun working on. “It’s like an art piece. It’s like a documentary of the world as we don’t know it, but kind of know it. You know these things are going on in the world, but you don’t really know to what degree they’re going on in the world. So I took time out to piece up a couple of visuals that represent that — moving visuals. Right now, me, Bono, Kanye, we’re trying to figure out what’s the right way to have that message.”

NEW YORK — Often imitated, never duplicated, Janet Jackson’s outbursts of meticulous choreography, sassy exclamations and smoldering gazes into the audience kept them on their feet for the entire two-hour set of her greatest hits at Radio City Music Hall. Monday night marked the last of three sold-out shows at the historic venue on her monumental Number Ones: Up Close and Personal Tour.
Up-and-coming boy band Mindless Behavior opened the show with songs including “#1 Girl,” “Future” and their debut single, “My Girl.” With their Usher-esque dance moves and shouts like “Where the ladies at?” the boys brought the tween girls out of hiding, judging by the shrill screams escaping various corner of the music hall.
At 9:00 sharp, the lights went down and Janet’s fans were on the edge of their seats, watching music videos for “The Best Things in Life Are Free” and “Rhythm Nation” projected on big screens across the venue. A small shadow drifted toward center stage, and when the colorful lights came up, Jackson, wrapped in a shoulder-padded catsuit, complete with slick short hair, blasted into “The Pleasure Principle,” dancing as hard and intensely choreographed as she did when the song first came out in the 1980s.
With barely a spare second between songs, Janet dazzled her way through her biggest hits, including “Miss You Much,” “All for You” and “Nasty,” and more recent hits like 2008′s “Feedback.”
Videos displayed during Jackson’s costume changes included vintage clips from “Diff’rent Strokes,” a funny scene from “Poetic Justice” where Jackson slyly rejects the advances of Tupac Shakur’s character, and a rather heavy scene, as Jackson’s character in “Why Did I Get Married” destroys her husband’s house with a golf club, screaming hysterically.
Considering the tough couple of years the Jackson family has faced, the dark moments in the video seemed fitting, and everyone was beside themselves with bittersweet joy when Michael Jackson’s face popped up on the big screen and she performed their hit single “Scream.”
Janet emerged for her encore in a tight white one-piece disco suit, and performed “Diamonds,” “Make Me” and “Together Again,” which appeared to be the biggest hit of the evening. As Jackson graciously bowed out, her straight face transitioned into a smirk, suggesting that despite the hard times she has experienced recently, we can expect to see this singing and dancing pop legend shine far into the future.
“Its amazing!” Janet fan Elena Mercantini gleamed afterward. “It’s like she’s still 20 years old!”
“She’s hot, she’s amazing and she’s still got it after all these years” added Alison Klinger of Long Island. “Best concert I’ve ever been to!”

How do you feel about The Oprah Winfrey Show coming to an end?
I think it’s the right time, but it’s very bittersweet for me. I feel like Harpo has been a family to me.
What was your first impression of Oprah?
Hilarious. I truly thought she was hilarious. That’s one of the little-known things about Oprah. She’s always the funniest person in the room, no matter who else is at the table.
What’s the funniest thing she’s ever said to you?
It’s not even like that. It’s pretty constant.
Why do you think she’s so relatable?
She’s never hidden anything from anyone. She’s the exact same person on the screen as she is off the screen. I think it’s her authenticity that really resonated. Because people are smart, and they know when people are telling them the truth. And Oprah has always told the truth. Telling the truth makes you very powerful.
Is there anything about her that’s different off camera?
I’m happy that people are watching (her reality show) Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes this year. You see Oprah not on set, not on the show. And I think that’s also a very accurate side to Oprah.
You get to see her as a tough businesswoman, right?
Yeah, and it’s funny and there’s swear words. Like all of us, she’s got many sides.
Do you ever think she’s intimidating?
No, I don’t find Oprah to be intimidating, but I think there’s a respect that’s there because of her life experience and her knowledge and willingness and openness to new things. She deserves a lot of respect.
What memories from the show stick out in your mind?
When I came back from the tsunami (in the Indian Ocean in 2004, during which he lost his partner), I came on the show to help raise money to rebuild the town where I was. Oprah was just staring at me without saying anything when I was speaking. And I could just feel her empathy in that moment.
What’s the best advice she’s ever given you?
Always listen to my inner guide. No matter what the stakes, no matter who’s telling me different, no matter what anyone’s saying will be the backlash. Always trust my inner voice.
Has she given you advice about hosting your own show?
Of course, yeah. But the mistake that a lot of people make with Oprah is that they think she has the answers for them. A lot of people think, "Well, it’s Oprah, so she’ll know exactly what I should do." But she’s taught me that you need to figure out what feels right for you. No one else can tell you what the right choices for you are. And that’s also been a big part of The Oprah Winfrey Show. The way she’s presented information for the past 25 years has not been "do this" or "eat that." It’s been, "This is something that I’ve found that I’d like to share with you, and you can make your mind up how you see fit."
How has she changed your life?
Well, one, she’s a dear friend. And two, I think that she allowed me to be one of the very, very lucky people who get to do what they love to do. I take my passion and share it with millions of people. And I don’t know what’s better than that.
Do you have a favorite episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show?
Wow, there really were so many for me that resonated. I love the one where they had men who had been abused. I thought that was incredible. And I really loved all the opportunities that I had to be that guy who rings the doorbell and somebody knows as soon as they see me that things are changing — and they’re changing for the better.
What does that feel like?
It’s amazing. It’s making a difference in people’s lives, and that’s what I hope to do with my own show.
Oprah recently gave you a tour of her home on your show. Did anything surprise you about her house?
One of my philosophies for a long time has been that people really deserve to love the way they live. Our homes should really be a space, at any price, that we feel a sense of peace and a sense of connection with. The depth to which Oprah feels that about her home is something that made me really happy.
Do you have any inside info on what viewers can expect from Oprah’s final show?
Nope! Unfortunately, I cannot tell you that. It’ll be spectacular, though!

Scooter Braun, Biebs’ manager, teases ‘crazy’ clip from F.A.M.E.

Chris Brown recently took the stage with Justin Bieber during the Biebs’ tour stop in Australia, where they performed “Up,” and now the two will begin work on a video for Brown’s F.A.M.E. track “Next 2 You.”
Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, confirmed the video plans on Twitter. “NP- #Next2You w/ @justinbieber and @chrisbrown – video treatment is crazy … yeah it’s coming!!” he wrote.
With little known about what these two have in store for fans, MTV News spoke to Brown in March about working with the teen star on the track. “Being able to collab with [Bieber] was great,” Brown said. “He’s a young, energetic cat, so being able to work with him, with the fanbase he has, was incredible. I know a lot of little girls are going to love this record.
“I wouldn’t say [he's] my protégé. He’s doing his thing at a young age, and I was doing mine at a young age, so being able to see him come up is dope.”
The midtempo ballad is about the power of love and making the pledge to spend your life with that special someone. The chorus says, “One day when the sky is fallin’/ I’ll be standing right next to you, right next to you/ Nothing will ever come between us/ ‘Cause I’ll be standing right next to you, right next to you.”
While it’s a feel-good track, Brown joked that when recording the song, he missed his chance to hit the studio with Bieber. “I actually stood him up on accident,” Brown recalled. “He was kind of mad … I was all the way on the other side of town handling some business, ‘girl business,’ and I was rushing back, and by that time, he’s like, ‘Man, I’m leaving, bro. I did it — just check it out.’ And I looked at it and listened to it and I was like, ‘Man, this is crazy.’ … He’s a great kid.”

Little Monsters, the wait is over! After almost a year since Lady Gaga first dished out details about the project, her Born This Way album has finally arrived.
With endorsement deals from Starbucks, Google and Zynga’s “FarmVille,” Gaga and her team have crafted an over-the-top marketing plan to make sure everyone under the sun knows that the LP has hit stores. As one of the year’s most anticipated releases, Born This Way is expected to debut with high sales ranging from 450,000 to 750,000 copies, according to Billboard estimates.
Much like her costumes, performances and everything else that is Lady Gaga, critics have noted (and mostly praised) the immensity of Born This Way, while name-dropping Madonna every other review. For a deeper look at what the press says Mother Monster has to offer on the new album, read on.

The video for “Story of Us” follows Taylor Swift‘s collegiate character as she falls in love in the stacks of her Ivy League library … and falls very much out of love in the hallowed hallways of that same school.
Shot at Vanderbilt University near her home in Nashville, the video was complicated not by the tumultuous relationship, but instead by some very dangerous weather conditions.
“There were a few complications. This was actually when a bunch of tornadoes were hitting Nashville,” she recalled in Tuesday’s (May 24) chat with Sway during <a href=" http://www.mtv.com/videos/?id=1664460" target="_blank "MTV First: Taylor Swift." “We had to hide. All of us, we had to hide in a room where there were no windows, so that was a little bit crazy. [But] other than that, it was incredibly fun.”
The video not only features one very good-looking guy, but also Swift’s whole band in varying roles. Who got the best role? Her backup singer Liz Huett, who got to make out with Swift’s love interest in the clip. And the story of Taylor and Liz is almost more interesting than the story of Swift and the boy who inspired the song and video.
“We met in a meet-and-greet line. I started out playing small bars and clubs a few years ago, and she came to one of the shows, and I would sign autographs … and she waited three or four hours,” Swift recalled. “And she came up and asked if she could sing for me. … She sang for me, and [I said], ‘You’ve got to audition for some TV talent show.’ And I ran into her a few months later, and one thing led to another and she ended up being my backup singer on tour and making out with a guy in my video.”

TheYBF.com is celebrating 25 years of The Oprah Winfrey Show in our homes and hearts by taking a look back at her first 10 years in the biz.
The Oprah Winfrey Show is more than a talk show. Through her teachings and the examples she set, Oprah’s show became a movement. A way of life. Each show set out to teach us something about ourselves, our purpose and our place.
Who could forget the 1987 townhall meeting she held about the AIDS epidemic. For many people, it was the first time they heard an open conversation about the illness and Oprah cleared up many untruths associated with the disease.
Or the time she wheeled out a wagon full of 67lbs of meat to symbolize what she had to lose to get in her size 10 jeans. She let us in on her weight struggles and other demons that haunted her.
And the time she went to LA in 1991 after the LA Riots. Her discussion about the LAPD and race relations in this country was an eye-opener to many.
Her first ten years on the air, she changed the way many people viewed themselves, others and African Americans at large. She taught us that God could dream a bigger dream for us, than we could dream for ourselves.
But how did it begin?
Looking back on it, Dennis Swanson, who’s now president of station operations for Fox Television Stations, says he discovered Oprah in August of 1983 while looking for a new host for "A.M. Chicago" who could draw in female viewers and compete with Phil Donahue.
After watching her audition tape he said,
"I thought to myself, ‘Wow, this is an exceptional talent.’ (She) was exactly what you would look for. She was informed, spontaneous, comfortable. Able to ask questions easily and readily. Made the guests feel comfortable. And I just thought, ‘This person is just a natural television performer, and there’s no way we can miss with her…."
He hired Oprah and within one month, "AM Chicago" went from last place to winning February sweeps only one month after her debut. And the rest is history….
